Wishing the…..worst for you

In order to complete the today morning post I would like to include this news read in TechCrunch. An american company called Channel Intelligence accused other startups companies and individuals for offer wish lists for products other may want others to buy for them. Channel Intelligence claims that all these companies infringe its patent Nº 6917941 tha covers the invention of creating a list of things in a database. One
interesting thing: among these companies don´t
appear Amazon or eBay.

Do you like it?

With the omnipresence of Web 2.0, lots of sites such as Amazon are trying to use the power of the social recomendations. The idea is very simple and is wide spread: every time you visit a content or you buy a product, the engine will recommend you another things that might interest you. In this way cross sales are promoting. This recomendations are based upon the previous products that people with similar likes have consumed before.
We all know that sometimes these recomendation are far for being interesting for us. This is because the recomendation engine, wich is the background mechanism in charge of providing them.
Last week Technology Review published an interesting article about Digg´s recommendation system. Digg is a social information network in which each member submit his favourite stories and give the chance to others members to “dig” them. The most popular contents are displayed in the Digg´s front page.
